You probably warped the head my friend. Your first mistake was keeping driving it when it ever overheated. You'll want to remove the head and make sure it all measures to spec. So i took the old t-stat out and tried to put the new one in. heres my question, do i need any lube or glue to install the t-stat or should it just screw right on in the housing ?

Under what conditions are you overheatimg? Check the easiest items first...coolant level, t-stat, radiator cap (it needs to hold pressure for the system to function correctly), back flush system, clean exterior of radiator fins, retarded ignition timing. Then look at the head gasket. See if any exh...

CHANGE THE OIL!!!! Break in periods for a engine are very important! If the head was torqued properly before installation, they shouldn't need to be re-torqued. I am pretty sure they are torque-to-yield bolts, and they tend to be designed to accomodate for stresses and such right off the bat. Get a...
