Re: How to remove exterior SR5 molding
Welcome, BFGoon. It looks like your Tercel is an 83 so it should be easy to remove, just follow Petros' advice in the post above yours. On the 85 and up models the exterior door trim was fastened with double-sided foam tape which was more of a pain in the ass to deal with.

Hi Simon, and welcome to the forum. Does the car have an inclinometer, and if so how much would it be with shipping to Canada? I can send you my postal code if you need that.
The car looks like it's in great condition, why are you parting it out?

Re: Distributor rebuild
A small update for distributor rebuild. I have recently found out that latest 4A distributors came without pin/key gear on the distributor shaft. The gear on such distributors is basically a one centimeter thick gear. You want to have access to hydraulic press if you want to rebuild a 4A ...

Re: Looking for a 85-88 4WD Transmission
As I understand it, a 85 transmission won't work in a 83 4wd wagon.
The gear ratio is different.
That's why I specified only 85-88 to fix my car.
If you're planning on separating the diff from the transmission, than any year of 4wd Tercel wagon transmission will work. This is because the gear ...

Re: Garage cleaning - what are these?
They look like wheel spacers to me. I never looked into the brake upgrades because I'm fine with the stock brakes but those might be necessary for spacing the wheel out to clear the wider caliper. I used similar spacers before when a set of aftermarket wheels I bought caused the rear tires to rub on ...

Re: Brighten up your Headlights !!! Big time.
I'm not clear on what this wiring harness is for. Do you use it with the stock 83-86 bulbs to increase the voltage they get?
In my '87, I put in these LED bulbs a few years ago and have been really happy with them. They're one of the best bang for the buck mods I have come across.

Re: Pulling engine
My pilot bearing needs and will get replaced as well. I assume the intermediate plate pushes away from the differential, staying with the transmission? Does the intermediate plate have to separate from the transmission to install the inner bearing?
I tried multiple shops without luck before ...

Re: Pulling engine
Well,
It looks like I’m in business, now to drop the tranny and swap in new bearings. Only one is needed, I got a second one to put on the shelf.
Chris, did you have any difficulty finding these bearings? It looks like I'm going replace the ISB on my spare transmission soon so just getting ...

I assume you still back out the bottom bolt to allow free oil flow to the back of the transmission?

Keegan wins this round, lol.
Tercle, it sounds like you will need to remove the plug you filled the trans from and shine a light in and use a screwdriver to get the fork in there back into the right spot before putting the plug back in. That should fix it.
I always fill from the plug directly ...

Re: Won't go into gear after changing transmission oil
Is that regardless of whether the car is running or not? If it will go into gear with the engine off but not once the engine is running, it's probably clutch-related.
If the problem is there even with the engine off, that's a pickle. Weird that it happened after a gear oil change. Did you notice ...
