I didi retrofit a lot of my cars, but when retrofitting the tercel, the result was poor cooling and inefficient A/C.

Well,

i did remove a complete A/C OEM kit from an '85 SR5 and installed it on my '87. Everything was A1. I did have to change the alternator bracket and the bracket for the compressor. Mine is a 10P13A Nippodenso (Compressor).

I just did the Swap with the Fuel Tank of ma parts car, because mine was badly rusted and the one on the Blue Parts car was barely brand new!!! But it's a PITA to remove these bolts ... I went to a place where they rebulided the cap and the pipes...

In fact, I do have a hitch on my 87, it is a custom made hitch made by a place here in Montreal. It is solid, bolted to the rear bumper reinforcement plus it goes under the fuel tank to bolt front of the tank on the chassis.
