Hi ti all,
did someone in that list did retrofit succesfully their A/C system to R-134 A??
I didi retrofit a lot of my cars, but when retrofitting the tercel, the result was poor cooling and inefficient A/C.
How much Oz. did you put in the system when retrofitting?
I was lucky to find R-12 to fill up my system (here in canada, it's virtually impossible to find), I did retrofit last year, poor cooling, so now I'm back with R-12 with a new compressor.
Also, my Idle-up system is rushing. The Idle up valve works, but it seems that there is not enough vacuum to pull correctly the valve. The VSV valve works correctly, it is the source of vacuum that seems to be weak... any idea???

Okay, I may sound really stupid here, but exactly where is this knob, and what does it do??? My car, the A/C works OK on the freeway, but in traffic or parked, it hardly gets cold. would turning this knob help this??? I see no bubbles in the glass in the engine compartment, and I just had it re-charged.

Not to rub this in anyone's face, but since this thread is about air conditioning...
I finally tested the AC in my 1983 Tercel yesterday and within a minute I was freezing my butt off. I am not lying. Mind you I live in the hot center of the US- SoCal. I could not believe it at all! I am liking my car more and more each day.

Not to change the subject much from the original question, but what DOES that knob do? I have not read up at all on how A/C systems work, but I think I bumped the knob while doing some work in my car, because my AC system acts differently now, the A/C compressor actually shuts off when the car gets to a certain cold temperature now, where as it never used to do that.3A-C Power wrote: Have you tried adjusting the knob on the ac amplifier behind the glovebox?
