Re: Toyota 3A 3AC complete long block; new head, distributor
I've still got it w/all parts. I'd rather not ship the block - it'd cost more than it's worth. Cheers, -A

Now that that's all cleared up, does anyone want to actually buy the engine?

Re: Delta Cam swap
I would estimate an increase of 5-10 ft-lbs of torque at 1500-3000 rpm, for an approximate increase of 5hp. Not exactly tire-shredding stuff, but noticeable with a stock motor. And, the idle quality is still good. Thanks for the compliment, Tom. I hope these guides come in handy to someone new to en...

Delta Cam swap
This one's not quite as easy as a carb swap; you should understand the basics of crank/cam/distributor timing. Keep the parts clean and exposed engine components free of debris, re-install bearing caps in the order in which they were mounted to begin with and observe the torque specs from the FSM, t...

Yep, that's engine/header paint. I prep all parts by sandblasting or soaking in Simple Green. Good luck with your install. -Alex

Yet another Weber install...
...this one just doesn't look like it was done by Stevie Wonder. Step 1. Remove old carb; throw in trash or sell or eBay as "rebuilt" or, if in CA, box for smog reinstall. Cap all exposed vacuum ports. http://i601.photobucket.com/albums/tt92/abugrov/3AC%20Weber%20Install/IMG_1115.jpg Step ...

Re: 3A crate motor: $300 (San Luis Obispo, CA)
Nope, long gone. I do have a "backup motor" I've been slowly building: a used, low-mile 3A short block (with hone marks still showing) with a new head. Includes beadblasted intake & exhaust manis, good carb & dizzy w/all the emission bits. $300 I'm in LA now, not SLO. Cheers, -Alex...

Re: Bypass Hose o-ring!
I've had the same failure and found a replacement O-ring size that works from a "variety pack", like your Fastenal. I slathered it in silicone and it's held for 6 months so far. I can send you the PN of the ring kit or a couple of rings... they'll probably fit in an envelope. -Alex

1983 Toyota Tercel SR5 4WD Wagon $500, CA
The car runs and drives well; the engine has good compression (170spi); the 6sp transmission and 4WD work well. All glass is intact and the interior is in very good shape. The body has some rust, which is sealed with primer. New front brake rotors and carb tuning are recommended. The car has an incl...
