Changed the oil today and found the outboards leaking. Looking for boots and or complete axle assy's. In NS so maritimes, and Maine will work. Thanks to all

Re: best place for cv joints/boots
I got GSP from Rock in 2007 - they have been OK, although with a few notes (do a Search).
Oddly, AutoZone's site has reman Duralast for $90 each and new for $60 each ? ? ? Worth a call/email for info.
Advance's site shows many new GSPs at $70 each, but not for our cars - although I'd imagine it could be ordered.
O'Reilly's site has new housebrand at $60 and reman also at $60 ? ? ? Call/write.
Rock shows only remans.

Re: best place for cv joints/boots
I recently put a new oreilly's axle in. As good or maybe slightly better than GSP, time will tell....
I did have to remove the outer dust shield though. Might have been able to modify it to work but I was in a hurry. I was going out of town right after install.
For the price of axles vs boots and their extra slimy labor, axles are usually the way to go these days. Unless your joints are still good(not many terc's originals are) and you've caught the boot before or just after tearing.

This is interesting; I had to modify my dust shields in late '07, as detailed in http://www.tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtop ... f=4&t=3283.splatterdog wrote:I did have to remove the outer dust shield though. Wonder if the O'Reilly axle is a GSP in mufti?
Tom M.
EDIT -
I wonder if the new Duralast and O'Reilly axles are really GSPs...it wouldn't seem efficient to have another manufacturer make axles for a pretty small market.
