The title pretty much says it... a complete long block, valve cover to oil pan, professionally rebuilt. If you want more info, email or call 805-783-0660, Alex

Nope, long gone. I do have a "backup motor" I've been slowly building: a used, low-mile 3A short block (with hone marks still showing) with a new head. Includes beadblasted intake & exhaust manis, good carb & dizzy w/all the emission bits. $300

I'm in LA now, not SLO. Cheers, -Alex 805.610.7752

short block is a really bare bones bottom end of the engine. so it can mean either just the block (cylinders with no rods, pistons) or it can have the pistons, but no head.

long block is everything, including the head. but none of the other stuff like carb, intake, or whatnot.

at least that's my understanding.

a long block is everything but the bolt ons...

it's pretty much the top and bottom half of the engine. the block and the head.

A short block is the block, pistons, and crankshaft, as an assembly. It may have the rear main seal, but usually will not have the oil pump. A long block also includes the complete head, timing components, and oil pump, plus all the completion gaskets. A block with no internals is a bare block, and a long block with the manifolds, water pump, valve cover, oil pan, etc. is an engine assembly.

Those are the definitions, although a lot of sellers don't know what they're talking about.

ok i get it now , "short block " means any equipments add "inside the block" and

"long block " means any equipment add "outside the block or add on the block"

so as for "starter" its add to tranny that where one hole has thread in the tranny , or "alternator" have to add bracket which attach to the block. hmmm interesting

Now that that's all cleared up, does anyone want to actually buy the engine?
