rebuilt carb and i have a bit of an idel problem
i rebuilt my carb about two weeks ago, i set everything to the specs that it said in my shop manual and i replaced just about every vac line with new ones. my engine runs much much better but i have one small problem. when i first start my tercel and the engine is cold it holds it idle right where it should be at, but after driving for a little bit and when the engine warms up the idle sits higher. when ever i come up to a stop the idle sits around 1,500 to 1,800 rpm. when driving the enigne runs good. i checked and rechecked all the adjustments that i made and everything seems to be adjusted right. cant seem to find the problem, does anyone have any ideas?

There is an idle adjustment on the front of the carb that I always have trouble with as far as a high idle...forget what is called.
Might want to check to see if those one way and slow bleed valves in the vac lines work right...and the infamous TVSV.

throttle cable too tight?

Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

xirdneh has a good suggestion. When I took up the slack in my throttle cable (as one one think is appropriate), I got a high idle and I must confess I did not diagnose the cause immediately; after all, the spring did pull the cable smartly against the stop... But - that slack lack was the cause.
I might also recommend lubing the cable; I dunno if it made any actual difference, but it sure slipped through the casing more smoothly - one of those "can't hurt" procedures.

thanks for the replies. i will make sure to check all that. with the throttle cable i did adjust it before to get rid of some of the slack, but that was when it was running bad. now that it is running better it might make a difference.
