Grille, headlights and qtr panels are different (fuel fillers are on opposite sides.) Front struts are shorter on the fwd and the rear suspension's completely different (along with the exhaust, fuel tank, rear brakes, cluster and combination switch ass'y.) Also the rear seat and cargo cover (longer on the fwd, but it can be cut to fit the 4wd.)
if it aint there, there's a good chance it won't break!
83 SR5 Silver/Blue (Snowmobile/work beater)-totaled but drivable
85 SR5 Blue
88 SR5 White (the 'good' one)-not anymore-totaled
87 fwd silver wagon a/t
87 4wd dx Cream (a/t- not anymore- now m/t)
everything forward of the firewall is identical except the strut length, and headlights, marker lights, bumper and grill as noted above. windshield should be the same, as are the front fenders, review mirrors, window regulator (all of these are worth saving if good).
2wd has the gas cap on the opposite side as the 4wd because the fuel tank is in a different locaiton.
it is integral to the unibody, it can be removed but your weld is important so you do not weaken the body. You can cut them off and weld them on, you either have to weld over the gas cap door, or just have two filler doors on the car to confuse gas thieves.
