How many gaskets are there supposed to be under the carb?
Can't find this in the FSM.
But I'm assuming, and have usually found on disassembly, 3 gaskets,
1 gasket below, another above heat shield, the resin heater plate spacer, another gasket, then the carb.
Here's my problem,
the new gaskets from Rock-Auto
seem much thicker than the old brittle broken ones being replaced,
and the 4 mounting studs become too short.
Barely can get the nuts on,
and they won't tighten down using all the threads, to be even with top of mounting studs.

How thick are they, inchwise?
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

The ones I ordered from RockAuto are probably as thick or a bit thicker as a credit card,
the original gaskets, brittle torn and peeling off, are much thinner.
There are many choices on RockAuto, maybe I got the wrong ones.
They look identical, the cutouts.

There's thick, thin, and thinner. A carb rebuild kit may be your best bet for finding good fit ones.

I'd go to the parts store and buy some longer studs--- double nut the old ones to remove them and install the longer studs----- PUT a rag down the intake manifold hole so nothing gets dropped down the hole and ruines your day Larry
