New dude here, my 2 wagons

Post by carter »

Hey guys, new here after I purchased my Tercel.

I don't know WHY or HOW...but I ended up being the "wagon guy" in my group of friends...started off with a Volvo 240 wagon and I keep it for summer cruising - soon to be on air ride and slammed to the ground. After I planned my build on the Volvo (I call it the LoLvo) I needed a winter beater. Picked up this one for $700 and replaced the brakes, tune up, ball joints, battery and painted it. It's only got 130 000km's on it so it's got a lot of life left in her :)

Painted the valve cover winter cammo to go along with the winter beater theme

Still needs winter tires and a lift and roof rack with a light bar...

My other wagon for any who care:

Welcome to the Club!
Lots of good info and helpful members here! Also lots of info available by using the Search feature. Did you notice that a FSM is available for download?
Interesting the Volvo wagon; had I been unsuccessful in my search for a T4WD back in 2005, the very next car was going to be a 240 wagon! I had a then-new 122S back in 1964 and have fond memories of it.

fsm is the factory service manual. you'll find the link for it at the top of each forum page. it's a bitch to navigate but pretty useful, obv.

i love the flat black! i'm a fiend for the stuff myself. the rims are gloss though, am i right? i also like the white walls.

ps, were in alberta are you? i have a soft spot in my heart for red deer and edmonton, and can brag that i've been to red earth up north.

Im in Calgary actually, work in Airdrie though. We got a snow storm this week and the roads are pretty bad but this wagon seems to not even care :D

I'll be sure to grab that manual, I know how to do most things as I used to be a mechanic for 3 years (only did my 1st year of school tho  )

Calagry, we visited there a few years ago. I loved it, great city. Stay warm and keep the Tercel between the ditches.
