WTB: Door handles

Post by 4doorVIP »

looking for new Tercel door handles that will fit a 88 tercel sr5 wagon, I'll also consider minty used door handles that have no rust and move well.

cheers

I have a set I think from an '87 in good condition. How many do you need? There are several T4wd in the local yard.
'87 Tercel 4wd SR5 (current engine swap project)
'84 Tercel 4wd (daily driver, with on going mods)
'92 Mazda MPV 4wd (wife's daily driver)
'85 Tercel 4wd DLX auto(daughter's daily driver)
'01 Honda Civic (other daughter's daily driver)

I just got my drivers side exterior replaced, it's working really smoothly.. I'm going to try and re-lube the rear driver side door to see if I can get it from sticking, all the other door handles work well so far.

thanks for the replies btw, it's a good feeling ppl are there to help! :)

Has anyone found a way to fix these? My pass side requires a lot of work to get it open...now the drivers side is getting trickier.

So what is the issue besides rust? Does the plastic deteriorate and cause the binding?

I had many handles from the past that has same problem , it some kind of CORRISION built up from friction of metal to metal sametime water runs down from window, maintance by lube it or WD40 will work but for short time ,dirt or dust goes in the handle then more problem later , my opion it must stay dry ( no lube).
then steel stud in plastic housing break, I collect lots of right/left exteriors door handles ,what ever I find them in auto wrecking yard I collect them to store them as back up parts .
