Many pennies, nickels, some silver dimes and quarters - about $7.00.

Have to take it to the coin dealer to recoup some of my "investment"...

What - resurrect an ancient thread? Who - moi ?

ANYway, I finally sold the aforementioned 1901-O Morgan dollar on eBay (and it was worn); I got USD 20.50!
I'm pleased - that amount will buy almost exactly 1/2 tank for Goldie tonight...
It seems that many silver (and gold) coins are being sold now for their content rather than their numismatic value. They are being advertised with "bullion" in the header. Gotta dig out those silver dimes and quarters - hope I did not spend them!

I also thought that some newer members who may have missed this topic could add their two cents (giggle!) worth of back-seat finds.

I'll list what i've found in the T4WD's i've purchased

1983(First wagon) aka "Whitey"-
-Hypodermic Needle (sketch at best..)
-Handful of 9mm live rounds (to go with the needle?)
-Subwoofer wiring kit
-Stereo sound filter
-Rear floor board had about 5 pounds of sunflower seeds
-Gas Can
-Michael Jackson's Thriller CD
-Visor CD holder thing

1984(Second Wagon) aka "Spicy Dark Meat"
-A piece of house carpet to cover the rear cargo carpet
-Factory tire change kit in almost perfect condition
-All sorts of dealer accesories like "Touch up paint" that was color matched to the car, in its ugly burnt orange/rust color

1983(Third and Current Wagon) aka "Sasquatch"
-Seashells
-Laser Pointer
-Seat Covers
-Slashed spare tire
-Parking Permits
-Fuel Pump (I had to tow the car home it was the fuel pump that belonged on the car)
-RUST, Lots and lots of rust. (For an oregon car nothing compared to I think Splatterdog's)
-Supra floor mats, all 4 matching.
-Necklace under the backseat
-The PO's key to his grandmother's house (still have it, been meaning to mail it to him. Lost his email/phone number, think his adress is on the bill of sale though)

And all 3 wagons have had between 5 and 10 bucks in change. Whitey had a few canadian coins, and Sasquatch had some undescribable coins.

Some years ago my brother and I were buying mid '60s Mustangs and they all had roach clips - reefer stained hemostats lost under the seats. They're great for pinching vacuum lines.

My long term Tercel had been cleaned by a dealer so the only thing I remember finding is some broken glass under the back seat. It did have the original owners manual too. And no doubt some sticky lint encrusted change...

In the new (1984!) Tercel there is some sticky change and house carpet keeping the cargo area clean. Also found a pearl earing and some powder in a little plastic packet. Mechanically there is a broken piston :( , a valve cover washer under the valve cover being chewed by the distributor drive  (wouldn't you know you were missing one?), and a firewall that had been sledge hammered :x so it was easier to get the trans back in after a clutch job. The "rebuilt" carb (according to the PO) had the cast iron carb base broken by a punch :x to get at the idle mix screw. The steel exhaust hanger was cut off the catalytic converter rather than remove or cut the rubber hanger... Stripped threads and missing bolts too... UGH!

Little Tree airfresheners... "There's one in every car" I think this is true of cars from the 60s and 70s but didn't find any in the Tercs.

The line is from the 80s movie Repo Man. The great thing about Repo Man is that it features a white Tercel wagon in the background of at least two scenes, my favorite being that where several panicked people are running around the Terc while it is being towed away and Harry Dean Stanton looks at them and says "Ordinary f***ing people. I hate 'em."

Great movie and ironic (I hope) line.

My terdcell came with the original manual, with all the dates for oil changes for about 7 years..kinda nice. They switched weights twice during the year, which was cool. Had oil filter stock numbers, cool stuff.

I bought a brand new 90 Dodge Colt once and found a single earring in it, fell out from under the dash. I didn't think anything of it, then my wife found it.

:D Ok,

While getting the parts off for the shifting linkage/housing...I found a york peppermint patty in its wrapper and a crumbled piece of dentene gum in its wrapper. That and the b!tch I bought it from didn't even bother to clean her car out. Never seen so much doghair embedded into a carpet...EVER. Price was right though so I had to snag it up.

I found a receipt under the floor mat from Argentina. I can't remember what for, I still don't know if my Tercel traveled that far down in South America.
