THROTTLE LINKAGE LEAKING

Post by JOE »

Last couple of weeks I've noticed my idle was getting rough and the engine sounded like it was missing. So i took it to work and had one of my Techs take a look at it for me. Supposibly there are suppose to be bushings on the throttle linkage and mine have disintegrated causing a major vacumm leak. Anyway is it worth replacing these bushings or go with a weber conversion? Remember I have 459000kms on this carb. Is it true that the Weber needs 3 psi fuel pressure and our fuel pumps put out 7 psi?
Just waying the options and any input will be very much appreciated.

the part that your talking about it where it hooks up to the rod that attaches to the plate for the cable? Mine has a similar problem, it has a bit of a bad idle and it seems to miss fire and sometimes when accel. it doesnt want to then it just takes off.

I'd recommend finding out about your emissions laws, how much the repair would be, then thinking about a Weber.
