You both have fantastic literature and bring up interesting data and theories. We’re all on the same side, please keep things civil.
Chris
I will but they are not theories. Can you tell Nordica to keep it civil too?

Re: 1985 Toyota Tercel general spec. Brochure
I have actually all parts to convert my 1986 European spec. 4wd Tercel to general spec. but we will see. Other alternatives are AV-I Carib and 1982-1984 European Tercel 4wd. So another point is also to show that such cars existed in case I will make one.Nordical25 wrote: Fri Dec 27, 2024 3:35 am Today is my day off. Therefore, I have time to do extra things that I would in normal case complete later. I decided to share these Tercel 4wd details because of several discussions both in Facebook and in here.
The topic of today is Toyota Tercel 4wd general spec. You can identify these cars from sales region, which is marked as "general" or as "gen". It means that these Tercels were sold mostly outside Europe, Australia, Japan, USA & Canada, which had their own recognizable features as you know already. Though some were actually sold in Europe also in addition to the ZWFDSW.
It means that these cars share features from all other market areas, but have their own unique look. I have learnt through discussions that such cars were sold at least in Middle America (Costa Rica) and in South America (Peru). Other possible sales areas are Africa, Arabic Countries and Asian countries. Grade of these cars was low DLX, High DLX or SR5 either unmarked or marked. But some had an inclinometer and wide side protection mouldings similar to most European Tercels. Next I will attach some pictures from a 1985 model brochure.
Proof they were sold in Peru and Costa Rica originally in 1982 to 1988 when they were brand new?! Who did you speak to? Where's their proof? Brochures? The car was definitely sold in Brunei, The Bahamas and the Caribbean!

Nordical25 wrote: Sun Jan 05, 2025 1:17 pmAre you sure that this is a brochure from the Netherlands? That is a gen spec. Tercel for sure! And the grill has the 1982-1984 4wd font. It says Tercel but not further dealer details in the first page at least. So I am interested in further details for sure.terceldude wrote: Thu Jan 02, 2025 2:35 pmI also have two copies of that same brochure both from September 1984 and one from the Netherlands directly and one indirectly from New Zealand. I also have the September 1982 oneNordical25 wrote: Fri Dec 27, 2024 3:37 am Here are some details of gen. spec. Tercel 4wd straight from a 1985 brochure.
One of my September 1984's is from Soest, NL so of course I know what I'm talking about.
