Re: Time for a winch bumper, IDEAS?
We were also concerned with weight, and we did weigh before and after as they are now. We used 1/8" wall tubing to keep the weight down. I cannot find the numbers at the moment. I will dig them up and get them posted.TURTCEL wrote:Did you weigh the stock bumper and the new custom one to see the differnce?

Re: Time for a winch bumper, IDEAS?
Here are some photos of my son and my "Work in process" for the Redneck Rover. We wanted to keep the square look to match the lines of the car. Will add receiver plates later front and rear to accept a 2" receiver with a winch mounted on it. That way we can use in front or rear. Will also add lights ...

Slammed Tercel?
I was killing some time the other day and took some wheel adapters...and an old set of 17" wheels from an Accord...just wanted to see what they looked like on the Tercel.
The spacers are 1.25" so the wheels set out past the fenders approx 1". Not bad but just not my style..had to take them off ...

Re: New Tercs in the stable
Oh yeah, the propane tank...we really had to boost the springs to get it to hold the extra weight...you don't have to fill up but twice a year though.
Petro's sound like you have a good idea going there with the conversion.
I checked the first tankful of gas through the DLX auto, got 28mpg. Not ...

New Tercs in the stable
If you are reading this, we have something in common....the love of the Tercel....while I was working on my sons car (the Rover) over the holidays, he and a friend went out and rescued another 1983, SR5. It has been sitting for approx 7 years but it is in decent shape. It is a 6 speed and has 289 ...

Slippin and slidin
This is what we woke up to this morning. Fun, fun. The Rover sure looks at home. These are awesome vehicles. When others are struggling, she motors on.
I know this is common to a lot of you, but we are in Georgia.....don't see it very often.

Re: Safari rack?
Hope everyone is doing well.
My son and I put a rack on the Rover. We got a roof rack off of a Ford Explorer and mounted it. We had to cut the cross rails off but other than that, it went with no problems. We pulled the headliner down, drilled through holes and bolted it on, using a lot of silicone ...

Hey Moots, we did find a lot of "stuff" under the rear seat, that related to your area. I have the name of the family that originally had it from some paperwork that we found. Looks like it was their family ride. I believe they were in Gallatin. It was in North Georgia before it made its way here ...

Rover gets racin' stripes
My son came in last night and started taping, masking and painting. Below is what he ended up with. Not bad for spray cans. The Rover has to live up to its name, you know.
