Slammed Tercel?

Post by Dirtmagnet »

I was killing some time the other day and took some wheel adapters...and an old set of 17" wheels from an Accord...just wanted to see what they looked like on the Tercel.

The spacers are 1.25" so the wheels set out past the fenders approx 1". Not bad but just not my style..had to take them off.

I showed this photo to a kid at work and he ask for a copy. Later he sent me this photo back...he did a little Photoshop magic on it.
So if you were wondering what your Tercel would look like slammed rolling on 17"'s...here it is. He even fixed my door and my duct tape around the window.

Thats actually pretty cool looking! I can't say I'd want to daily drive that in my situation where I need ground clearance but as a second tercel it could be fun. I actually considered bringing my bent up tercel back for a few months as a slammed rat rod but I didn't have the time to set it up. It'd be cool to fit an airbag suspension to a T4-- low for the streets and then raised up for snow/ off road!

I like the wheels. Maybe it is just me, but lowered station wagons look silly. Out of place. Now raised up in the air can look good because is it like a safari wagon, utilitarian and ready to go anywhere. Most 4wd vehicles are wagon or hatch back type vehicles.

I had some fun with my old suspension parts. The car is quite literally riding the bumpstops.

LR4WD, is that a legit photo? did you take any more?

very cool to see these things 'slammed' just for interests sake but that's as far as it goes. lowriders are completely useless to me. i can't understand wanting a car to not be able to drive over bumps.

No photoshop at all!

I think lowered cars look sweet, if I had the cash I'd probably build up a T4 with airbags and have it lay frame. This low and static isn't fun though, I have to plan out my route before driving into parking lots and over speed bumps. It's only a temporary setup thankfully

So what did you do to drop this down? (cut coils? and how much) Looks great how does it handle on the highway and ride, :D Sweet

Larry- if you're asking about my setup, I literally pulled out all 4 coils. So it's using the rubber bumpstops for suspension. It handles like crap, I get launched out of my seat crossing through every intersection haha. Looking cool is the only good thing about this setup! While I work on getting new bigger tires, fine tuning the lift, and finishing the half doors I think I'm going to mess around with cutting the coils and maybe using a FWD tercel strut with the MR2 top to make a lowering setup that actually handles decently. Coilovers would be sweet, I think a sleeve made for an AE86 strut should fit the tercel strut tube so I can get some adjustable ride hight in there.
