Urban off-roading stories

Anyone have any good stories of Urban Off-roading? (Off-roading in the city, construction sites, etc)

I'll start. My friend and I were in my tercel coming back from lunch at a nice place on the river.
We popped into a construction site, drove around a few mins, saw an eagle perched on some river ...

I found the 3M tool at Autozone, mixed in with unrelated buffing pads, abrasive discs, etc. The guy at Autozone recommended it when I found it, saying it make quick work of the gasket - which it did.
As for making sure flakes didnt go into the block ... we didnt do that. I'm sure some stuff went ...

Takza;
I might have done some things wrong. First time I've pulled a head off a car ever. But the tool that we used to clean the gasket material off was actualy made of rubber.
It was a 3M tool, you can find it in another post of mine. It's essential a rubber disc, with a lot of soft bristles on it ...

We got the car working pretty well now.
It was timing - the distributor was about 30 degrees off. The FSM doesn't make it entirely clear where to see the distributor, so we pulled Tony's tercel apart and compared where it was.
Been driving around a bit, car runs pretty good, though it feels timing ...

I did use the URL tags, and it wont shorten it to a named title
oh well

we messed around with it tonight again, looked closely at the distributor timing, lined up those two "holes" with the indent, still nothing.
All we got was one backfire, and a short rumble. Nothing else the entire evening.
The ...

The service manual said at TDC, the rotor should be pointing at the top of the distributor cap.
Unless I read it wrong, could be ;)

Car wont start after head job

Me and a friend (also a member here with his new tercel) replaced the head gasket on my 84, did a pretty complete and good job, except for one thing.
The car will no longer start. It cranks fine, we've verified spark, timing appears fine (we checked against the service manual), distributor and rotor ...

Nice, but I'd love to see more pictures of the process cleaning the pistons, or valves :D

I plan on doing my head gasket soon, so I'll try to document the steps as well.

Let me know if you need help or something. I've run PHPBB before on some servers, and I'm versed in Mysql/PHP/*Nix.
My job pays me to keep up with all that :P

What about having signups moderated?
A person reviewing them for possible spam or something before the account is allowed to post.
Or, if it's possible, require a 24 or 48 hour window before they can make their first post?
That would stop a lot of the bots, since they dont have the logic to handle ...

Man I wish I could be driving my terc :(
Havent fixed the head gasket yet, and at this rate, I wont get around to it till next summer.

I drove my Mazda3 around portland today, without hardly much trouble at all.
It's got bald summer tires on right now, and even then, I'm going up hills that 4x4 ...
