Re: Fender Replacement Help/Question - WTB

There are two distinctly different park lights for the 4WD Tercel. I don’t think the fenders changed at all, but the park lights certainly did. I would expect the headlamp housings must have changed slightly as well. If the park lamp and headlight housing is swapped together, it may work fine.

Re: upper rad hose pipe fitting on head.

I would lean towards correcting any by-pass tube fitment issues so the housing lands per stock placement. Likely easier and better in the long run.

Re: Non A Family Engine Swaps

Hey Koz, I’m hoping to find a Toyota 1n-t diesel and see if I can make it work. You have some interesting ideas. The transverse engines often times have the starter on the back side of the fly wheel which creates some challenges. Due to low clearance over the diff, most engines with oil pumps on the...

Re: Fender Replacement Help/Question - WTB

epara,

Any year of fender will work I believe. The park lamp housing is different between early and late and I expect is what you need. I believe the turn signals are just below the bumper.

Re: ID this Blue & Green electric Vacuum Control Please?

TD,

The FSM is linked in one of the first “General” stickies and provide some decent drawings for vac line locations. I believe the blue/green part is a replacement VSV.

Re: upper rad hose pipe fitting on head.

Simon,

I would try JB Weld and hope for the best. No paper gasket? or is it there and I just missed it? After the epoxy sets up, chase the threads and likely use a new bolt.

Re: Different water pump impellers

If the coolant temp is properly regulated by the thermostat, I wouldn’t expect much difference. I suppose the water pump that moves more water could provide slightly better heat, but I wouldn’t expect it to be noticeable.

New Kioto lenses and Sylvania 9003 bulbs

Hey all, The title says it all. I just swapped one side today so I could post the difference. I had nearly convinced myself to rewire and add new relays to decrease voltage drop. Fortunately I checked it out first. My alternator generates 14.7 V and voltage drop to the headlight wiring was negligibl...

Wow, great work Koz! I assume all/most of this would apply to the 7afe as well? The 1.8L with a 5-speed was a joy in my 95’ Prizm.

Re: 1983 Toyota Tercel SR5 something build

brucnich, I expect you are likely dealing with vapor lock and poor fuel delivery. First, if you have a timing light, check/set engine timing. Then, if you haven’t yet, install a new fuel filter on the driver’s side inner fender and confirm direction of flow. I would then disconnect the fuel line int...

Re: The Definitive List of Ways to Lift a Tercel 4wd

brucnich, If you can find the Moog 81043 for the front, you should be good without cutting anything. I've got about 40k miles on the lift and haven't had any CV problems. I did replace the driver's side, but it was unrelated to lift, passenger side (shorter) is still original to the best of my knowl...
