Re: boiling battery - sign of a bad battery, or bad alternator?

Hey David,

Most modern cars (as I'm sure you are aware) have the voltage regulator built into the alternator. I've never changed the VR on one of the integral units, but it may be possible. Definitely overcharging, swap out the VR if you can, if not, you're stuck swapping out the alternator.

Re: Trailing arms legthened and drive shaft

Progress pic, I figure to paint before installing. Ends are designed for 5/8” bolts, I’m cutting sleeves to space down to 1/2”.

Koz,

I got rid of the rear sway bar all together and don’t miss it.

Trailing arms legthened and drive shaft

Hey all, I wanted to share a couple of pics and ask a question. I got the trailing arms removed as I want to legthen them so the rear axle is nearer center in the rear fender. The Pathfinder springs in the rear pulled the rear axle forward some. This created no problems and the car drives fine, just...

jEN, I see your original account tERRI TERCEL from 2012, but it appears it only had 3 posts. You have been using your current account for around 4 years. The "Newbie" relates to number of posts, not time with the site. That said, Highlander hasn't posted in 4 years, so I don't know that you will rea...

Re: JDM RHD T4wd for sale in VA only $10,000

Mattel,

So that's what the sub-frame is supposed to look like! Clean car and possibly worth the $10k vs. buying a new rig. TEMS, etc., very nice. It looks like the front diff cover was put back on with a couple tubes of high heat RTV??

Re: Is this worth rebuilding?

Starmast,

The solenoids are off/on, so all you need is a voltmeter. Even a test light would likely suffice, FSM lays it out pretty well.

Re: Pulling engine

Ok All, I’m getting ready to drop the trans after lunch, but I’m thinking it may not be the inner input bearing after all. Plug under the trans drained first, then finished under the differential. Shiney/chunky!! Hopefully I will find the issue after lunch, but what are your guesses?? The chunk look...

Re: Pulling engine

Well,

It looks like I’m in business, now to drop the tranny and swap in new bearings. Only one is needed, I got a second one to put on the shelf.
