Re: Performance carb vs stock

On cold starts it has a misfire and I have to rev the engine a few times to correct it. I assume most of us are doing just that when we start it. Mine likes to sputter around the first block or so and after the first run up to 3k or 4k rpm, it runs much better. I am curious to see how much warm up ...

Re: Fuel tank removal

FU-33 in the FSM shows the parts break out, I don’t know if there is a written procedure. - Pre-soak bolts on the tank straps - Near empty your tank - Remove covers or shields - Support the tank with a jack and larger piece of wood to distribute load - Possibly may need to remove a few connection po...

Re: Tercel4wd.com Midwest meet/greet??

SirFoxx, I fully understand concerns about being stranded, my wife is thinking about chasing with her van just in case. While the rallycross looks fun to visit, the stance on the Rusty Frog would make me pretty timid ripping around corners. I will definitely catch up with you guys at one of these me...

Re: Supercharged Tercel

Chard, What part of Kansas are in?? I'm in Maryville, MO and will be going south on October 18th-19th for some hopeful fun in Mark Twain National Forest on the service roads (nothing extreme). I've got about 11,000 miles on my 4ac rebuild and it's better. Went with a regrind cam and it cruises down ...

Re: Tercel4wd.com Midwest meet/greet??

Hey Keegan, I somehow missed your post. There are non-electric sites that can be reserved and some sites that are first come-first serve. I assume a generator would be fine on the non-electric sites, but I may call and ask. My wife and I are considering going down Friday, but we’re not sure yet. For...

No knowledge here, but did some searching. I couldn’t find the 21450 number, but with the spline count you might.

Re: What Do Other People in My Situation Do?

Simon, Does the provided part have a small hole in the flange? I believe both the jiggle valve or small hole allow air to pass through and avoid an air pocket creating problems. Trapped air does not heat the thermostat spring the same and could allow higher than desired temps before opening. I think...

Re: Tercel4wd.com Midwest meet/greet??

Correct, the trails are off limits for us. I’m wanting to drive the forest service roads in this vicinity and the campground would be convenient.

Re: Finally got my roof racks installed!

Petros, I kept the racks pretty close to the outside edge so they sre pretty well supported. I still need to trim the width, but I have two cross supports that will carry the load (typically “J” frames for the kayaks or a future basket. I did some shaping/grinding to allow easy removal/addition of t...

Re: Tercel4wd.com Midwest meet/greet??

Cobb Ridge campground sounds nice, reasonable and is right in this area at the ATV trails.

Finally got my roof racks installed!

Hey all,

I finally got my roof racks installed last night. Here are a couple of pics parked at work today. They are nice heavy racks off a late 90s Mazda I believe. I did shorten them some. I should get a rain test tomorrow or Wednesday.

Re: Tercel4wd.com Midwest meet/greet??

Thanks Slimdude, I figure a skeleton crew this year and then hopefully with pics, etc. and some planning/notice, maybe we get a little group together next year. The 19th is the only good October weekend for us (my wife wants to come along). Thanks for the great input. SirFoxx, How does the 19th work...

Re: Tercel4wd.com Midwest meet/greet??

Hey all, Route A heads east from Hwy65. Rte A is asphalt for a ways and is the northern most intersection in the “Saddlebrook” pic. “A” goes east from Hwy65 and turns into Dry Hollow Rd. The water crossing pic is the northern stream crossing in the close up map. There are two more shown on google ma...
