Recommendations for Aftermarket Master Cylinder Brand

Post by mijaku »

I’m looking for a master cylinder (47201-16081) to replace my original one. I’ve had no luck finding another OEM one so I’ll have to try the aftermarket for a new one (not a remanufactured one).

Are there any brands for an aftermarket master cylinder that you could recommend? I would like to get a reliable part that has no fitment issues and lasts a reasonable amount of time.

The car work will be done by my mechanic. Any feedback will be much appreciated. Thanks.

I have had terrible luck with rebuilt brake master cylinders, but I've had good luck with new ones regardless of brand. So I wouldn't worry about brand and instead just focus on finding a new one.

Looking on rock auto now, it appears all the ones they are currently carrying are new and not reman's.

David is spot on,

I’ve not had problems with new product from Rock Auto. See what they have and check reviews elsewhere.
