Re: Fini - The Last Of A Long Line

Maybe that explains some of my infatuation with our wagons (just recently acquired my 12th.) Prior to Tercels, I had a bunch of Renault LeCars (ie Renault 5's)- no comparison when it comes to reliability and parts availability. Don't know what I'll do when the world runs out of Tercel wagons...

Re: For Sale - 1985 Tercel Drivers Door Mirror

If he doesn't, I do. Also I see you have an '84 (flip- flop type mirror)- '85 and up had the fixed type. From what I've heard, it can be made to fit with modification, but not a direct bolt-on.

Re: Free hatch.

I've got one (complete with intact plastic linkage clip) if you're interested. Also still have the carb pre-heater (sorry I never got back to you-this COVID crap makes dealing with USPS a PITA.)

Re: I have found an al25

David- Don't think Toyota ever made a FWD SR5 wagon- OP said he had a hatchback (two-door, I assume.) I kinda doubt the cargo covers from the wagons (either FWD or 4WD) would fit without modification. You are correct however, the FWD cover is longer (back seat is moved forward about an inch or so fr...

Re: locked rear wheels

Rear parking brake cables are different right and left (also different from 4WD.) I've replaced them on FWD and 4WD cars- always got 'em from Rock Auto. Never had a problem with a front cable. Did you leave the parking brake on for the 2 years it sat? Never a good idea. Maybe if you cut the cable (a...

Re: No More Moog

OK, been reading about different length inner tie rod ends here for a good while. I've ordered and replaced inner ends on our cars for years (decades) and have yet to find one that is the wrong length. The difference in advertised lengths is the overall length is 6.3" and the effective (not counting...

Would love to have the rear bumper- too bad it's on the other side of the country! ( I think the "rims" are actually wheel covers.)

Re: Axle play at Front differential & bearing whine #%&*

Not sure if you've already tried this, but years ago when I bought my "good" T4 (that had been sitting for 10 years) I had a 5 mile drive back to the shop and rigged an aux. fuel tank using a gallon antifreeze container (fit real nice between the master cyl and the distributor.) Put a 90 degree bend...

Re: After market cruise control

Looks like a Speedostat unit made by Precision controls and sold by Montgomery Wards. I installed a bunch of 'em back in the day.
