I drove behind a Saab with its rear fog light on and it is VERY annoying. The light is about as bright as a brake light. I am glad it is not mandatory in the US.
I agree.
Its becoming rare to see them used in what they were intented to be used for. More common thing to do with them seems to be to ...

Re: My drive belt pulley broke
Well, summer is almost here and the days are warm enough that I dont need to use the heater anymore. Except that as I feared, the radiator is just not effective enough anymore, so I ended up having to keep using the heater at full blast, sweating like a pig.

Re: all-terrain tires for my tercel?
I have also been lookin for 13" tyres with rough tread pattern. So far I have found only one manufacturer. http://www.fedima.pl/submenu/30
One option would be to use rally tyres. Atleast in here, 13" is is still somewhat common size in lower levels of the sport. And they are usually road-legal ...

Re: 4AFE compatability
where can 4AGEs with RWD manifolds be found? according to wikipedia only in 1986 and older corollas and mr2s..is that right?
Mr2`s do not have RWD manifolds. The engine (and transmission) is same as in the FWD corolla GTI and oriented the same way, just in a different end of the car.
One ...

Re: hatchback 4wd conversion
I did some digginging on local toyota forums, but all I found was a passing note about someone thinking of getting a sedan 4wd tercel from Germany. There was also a mention about them being manufactured originally for American market. If this is true I would think that one of you would have run into ...

Those last two pics are F'in sweet! Where did you find them? What's the link? :)
All of the pictures are from here.
The rear shoulder belts did not make it in any of the Gen 2 cars brought into the USA or Canada - they did in Australia/ New Zealand, and apparently at least parts of Europe ...

Wow - was that a LOT of work - must have been a labor of love - or done on a bet... Almost looks like they used struts in the back? Or maybe just my eyes...
The 3/4 T2WD looks like someone just did some chopping - maybe the original rear end was crunched and he made the best out of a bad situation ...

Winter pics from around here
I already made a thread like this last weekend, but it got lost. More about that in this thread . So here I go again.
There has recently been some snowfall, so I decided to go for a spin to the local backroads and take some photos for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

Same thing here. I made one post to an existing thread and started one new thread yesterday, and now both are gone. I also had to log in anew.
edit: It also seems that post I have read during weekend have changed back to un-readed.

Re: My Tercel in the Southern California Storm
One option would be to use stronger pressure plate/spring assembly with original clutch plate, that way you would retain almost normal driveability.
I put one of those "spec" non-springed clutch plates and lightened flywheel on my summer car, and it is a bit tricky to drive in traffic. Works nicely ...
