Need Tercel this weekend !!!

This forum is for cars that run, or at least are close to running. This isn't for parting out complete cars.

Need Tercel this weekend !!!

Post by KentuckyWhip »

This site is the best. I have been a lurker here for a long time and have done my best to get savvy before taking anyone's time. That being said, I am sick of waiting around and really want to pick up a wagon this weekend.

Below is the latest target... Paint is thin, but looks decent regarding rust for a car from Tennessee. Good?

If anyone knows of one that is drivable and the owner is around this weekend please share your thoughts.

I think i have seen that add before!
If they had no luck selling last time they advertised It they may be eager to sell.
Test drive it find something you use to make a lower offer around 1300 and plan on settling around 1500
There is not enough photos to really know for sure if the car is really in great shape go 1700
The add says obo so they will come off of the asking price.
Good luck

welcome, KW. despite the peeling clear coat, i think the car looks really good in those pics. i really like the seats in the '87 DLXs. for that price though, i would want everything to be in excellent working condition though. there are too many cheap tercels that have issues to bother with expensive tercels that have issues so be picky about legit problems, like trans and engine issues. smaller stuff like brakes, front end, interior, is not a big deal but very useful for haggling.

good luck with this one!

Good luck with your search. I am sure you have gone through the FAQ about what to look for when buying a tercel.

Thanks for all the replies. I feel I am prepared to look at critical vs. fixable issues thanks to this site.

dlb, Is this a DLX or an SR5? It looks to my untrained eye that there may be SR5 badging.

Is this a SR5?

Yeah that's an SR5 unless he swapped the trim over.

Worth Considering:

I'm living out here in the PNW right now (Port Angeles) I'm headed down to visit family in Nor-Cal. I'm not working at the moment, and I have a trip back to Mn. planned in the next two weeks. Maybe we can work something out for a delivery? There seems to be loads of T4wds out here, I know of at least two I've been thinking of knocking on the doors of. I don't need one, so I haven't been motived.

Again, just a thought. PM..and maybe we can talk.

Well, if you are interested its an SR5, fully loaded with sunroof, etc. About 200k on the clock. Some rust, but nothing too bad. Interior is in decent shape. Runs pretty well, but probably needs a few vac leaks sorted out. Not actively selling at the moment, but it is just kind of sitting around unused. Let me know if you want more details.
