This car has been reposted. Still the same outrageous price.

Hey masses! I'm finally (crossing my fingers) going to get back into a Tercel. I'm planning on checking this one out Friday morning as long as it doesn't sell before that. Anything you think I should really keep an eye out for? I was alittle worried too about the rear panel rust...has anyone had experience with that and do they know how fast it could spread even if treated? And best method to snuff it out?

I talked with the guy today, seems like it could be a good investment on my end considering I've been dreaming of owning this car for 2007 ( I'm a young gun at the ripe age of 24).

Any wisdom/tips for approaching this would be greatly appreciated! Let's hope it doesn't sell before Friday!

CC, this tercel has been up for sale for quite a while and i think it is quite overpriced so i would not go for it unless it the engine and trans both appear to be in good shape. even then i don't think i would pay more than $700 for it due to the heavy damage to the rear right corner.

bear in mind i am notoriously cheap, though.

I agree with D here. It's over priced big time.

dlb, are you familiar with the guy selling the Tercel Wagon at Shawnigan Lake on Vicky Island? I saw that one too and wanted to make the long drive up...but then thought that I might run into high costs coming back down across the border (plus the ferry ride).

Now you guys got me sitting on the fence...I didn't think the rear corner looked too bad from the pictures, but I've never had a car with rust...

oh boy, look at me calling one rust bucket overpriced and then having my own even more expensive rust bucket pointed out! it seems ridiculous but despite the rust on the fenders, the car runs excellently. plus my price only covers my many repair costs so i feel justified.

i have several buyers waiting for me to replace/repair the gas tank (found a leak after posting the ad) so if you like i can add you to the list but in all honesty, these cars come up for sale in WA all the time so i don't think it would be worth the hassle of the long drive, cross-border stuff, and ferry costs.

on the topic of rust, i'm actually a-ok with it. i prefer my cars to not be mint because i hate worrying about rust creeping in, dents and dings popping up, etc. so i don't think there's anything wrong with the car listed in this thread. i just think that since most people don't maintain rusty cars like i do, the rest of the car is probably as rough as the exterior looks, and in that case it would be way overpriced.

I am wondering if that photo is the 'good' side!

For all we know it may not have doors on the other side of the car!

I'm still planning on going to check it out this Friday. I'll see if I can get a lower bite with cash in hand after it checks out as being road worthy.

That car has been for sale for a long time. Hopefully the seller will drop the price. Showing up with cash in hand is a good idea. If the rest of the car is in just as rough shape, I doubt that it would be worth more than $900. But that is my own opinion.

Yea...I didn't go check it out. Couldn't coordinate it. Hopefully someone out on the Peninsula gets it.

He sold the car for 1500.00 last week
this was after we wire brushed the rust spots and primed them
and fixed the noisy upper inner input shaft bearing
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.
