sup chaps?

I bought a new (to me) AE92 4dr (AE97) 5spd and it has a low mileage map 4afe in it. I have plans to turbo it but more for the hissssssssss pshhh sound rather than power. (yes i still have the 20v 4agte but will swap that in later...6spd baby!)

turbo Specialties has a kit for this engine but they want $2500 US for it. It is basically a bolt on with only mods are FPR and Map sensor.

I guess my question is, what MAP should be used? a 4AGZE map? I tried to contact them however no one wants to let me know this info (for obvious reasons no doubt)

According to several websites, the stock 4afe can hold 6psi in stock form netting approx 56% increase in hp. (about 170hp depending on age, mileage etc etc etc.) By changing the infuriating 4afe head to the 4age or better boostability, 7afe head, the engine can produce almost 200hp on stock bottom end.

so....back from useless info to the question...what map should i use???

oh, oh, and i also have a set of balanced 4agze injectors i'm planning on usuing....these should be ample for it right?

I've been out of the loop so long I can't think any more!!!

the 4agze map is a two bar map good for 14 psi, i would go for a sw20 map that has a 2.5 bar map, these inyectos are enough, supra pump and you just need fuel enrichment, i envy you, im almost done sourcing the parts for my 3asu turbo

what do you mean by fuel enrichment?

AIC???

AFAIK the stock fuel pump can handle the small amount of boost i'm planning on using.

I want less than 6psi.

If you want to do it really cheap and easy, use 4agze injectors and install an adjustable rising rate fuel pressure regulator. Install a wide band O2 sensor and adjust the regulator until you have a decent and safe A/F ratio.

The best way to go is to use Megasquirt and EDIS though ( http://www.megasquirt.info/ ). There are many folks out there who have used this system on turbo A motors. Many share their fuel maps out. YOu could use someone elses fuel map to get started. You'll have to do a bunch of wiring and learn some electronics, but it'll be worth it. Once you know how to do it, you can install it on any engine with amazing efficiency/power results. It's only about $200CDN too.

Good luck with your project.

I plan on doing this on a budjet as i have most of what you already stated. The megasquirt is a bit more than i need.

I'd take a look on Club4ag.com? Do a search and see what comes up. The 4afe shares the same block as the 4age (there were 3-rib and 7-rib 4afe and 4age blocks). You should be able to tap into the same point for oil as on 4ages. Coolant, I don't know... Maybe just cut a rad hose and put a t in it?
