I am in need of a throttle cable, and I can get Pioneer brand parts, but their picture shows the wrong end:
Does anybody recognize this as a Tercel cable from other years or from the sedan or something? Maybe they are just showing the wrong picture?
Their online catalog was pretty specific (didn't say wagon or 4wd, but it had ask if STD, DLX, SR5), but there were no other choices that I could see.
My temporary cable is pretty ugly. I had two broken cables (one butchered due to a Weber install, and one that got mangled during an engine removal), so I spliced them together by unwrapping the strands on both ends for about an inch; shoving the ends together and wrapping the whole mess tightly with mechanics (bailing) wire. There's also a piece of windshield washer tubing, a few cable ties, and a random piece of bent sheet metal involved, as well as removing the stock cable bracket for clearance. I'll have to take a pic when my air cleaner housing comes off next time.
Instead of a snap-on ball socket, I think it should have a small metal cylinder perpendicular to the cable.aftermarket throttle cable - wrong cable end

Re: aftermarket throttle cable - wrong cable end
i helped forum member scotisha replace the throttle cable on his terc back in the spring. i don't know what brand it was but it worked well. if you aren't partial to the pioneer brand you could PM scotisha and ask him for a brand or part #.

Re: aftermarket throttle cable - wrong cable end
Rockauto.com has tercel throttle cables for only like $7 new, I do not know what brand but another forum member bought it and it fit fine. I would guess that it is just a wrong picture, all of the 2nd gen Tercels used the same throttle cable, and likely the 4ac equipped corollas used one that is identical or a few inches different in length.
