Out of pure idle curiosity - I realize the front and rear seating is more spacious than our Tercs, but how much room is available in the back cargo area, compared to our cars (width and length)?

No matter how much or how little the difference is in the Corolla, there is no replacement for our head room in the Terc. It's like a catherdral ceiling in them. I am pretty tall and this is the first car I have ever owned that makes me feel short...haha.

this actually came up a while ago and i measured both. here's the thread but the gist was that the length was the same, the width was similar (tercel 3" wider at top, all trac 3" wider at bottom) but the tercel was 3" taller. this is with the cargo shelves of the tercel removed, of course.

I really like the rear cargo cover in my Terc for the fact that I carry tools with me regularly so it is nice for keeping them out of site. But....it really sucks having those speaker mounts in the way of everything in the back when wanting that extra space. I believe many companies out there make speakers that are flush mounts so relocation of the sound system would not be too difficult. I used to have a set of Nakamichi speakers in an Impala that I had and they were flush mounts.

It would be good bye cargo cover but more useable cargo space with the plastic speaker mounts gone. A blanket covers just as well I guess.

Has anyone relocated the rear speakers with any luck? Pics if you have ?
