got the new tercel up and running

i got this 84 dlx from the original owner he bought it from a local dealership in dec 1983...... but since 03 its sat behind his garage growing mold and moss on it i payed 250 plus a t4wd trans out of an 85 i picked up from the pull and save for 60 bucks. it has 366,xxx miles on it and it still has the original engine i replaced the carb the fuel pump the fuel pickup in the tank, blew out and clean all the fuel system. also put coil springs from the front of a 2000 Cherokee and shocks from the front of 2000 dodge 2500 on the rear end of the tercel decent lift and still has decent give(not to stiff).... still lots more to do.....

that is just such a typical ownership reaction: he buys it new and really gets a lot of miles out of it (much more than most). As it ages it gives him some "old age" trouble, so instead of selling it, he parks it behind his garage to hold on it, where it stayed for over ten years! It is like he just can not stand the idea of getting rid of it, so he holds it for some vague idea of future repairs, project car or something. But is willing to give it to someone who knows and loves these cars, and willing to fix it up and make it road worthy again.

well i feel like it was a good deal .. im glad i got another one to do some offroading with ... and teach my young siblings how to drive. should be fun. and my girlfriend got me the sign off of ebay and a "got tercel?" t shirt for Christmas.
