this was posted on the all trac forum but it looks like quite a good buy so i thought i'd post it here. no online ad, just one of the members there took photos.

if you read down the thread, there are two things to note. first, the odometer was replaced. the owner was apparently open about this but i still wonder why. second, the seller said he would take $1400 for it, which is a really good price for such a clean CAT, but when someone is trying so hard to sell a car with a replaced odo it makes me wary.

Could just have broken. My Aspire has had three speedos due to them crapping out, but all the changes were documented mileage-wise, so I still know what the mileage is on the car and motor. The tripmeter on my T4 isn't working, for instance. It happens.

looks nice. Should be a great deal. for some reason these cars are not as popular in the Seattle area as the Tercel4wd. it took me months to sell mine with a rebuilt motor, new clutch, recent brakes and axles, for less than I could sell a similar condition Tercel4wd. It is a great car, but something very different from a T4wd. Perhaps poor sales was why they discontinued it when it was new, they replaced it with the funky early RAV4.
I do not understand why big companies do that, they had a great, popular light weight 4wd car in the Tercel, than they discontinue it and replace it with something that is not very popular. You would think they would get the message. Honda did the same thing with the CRX, replaced it with a far less practical and funky looking Del Sol, sales fall off so they discontinue it all together. Meanwhile everyone is trying to keep their old CRXs going, and the Tercel4wd too!
