Stumbled on this because I regular craigslist for tercels and I think more pressing a small truck. What are the thoughts of the community here on this posting...does a tercel without 4WD still warrant the premium that a good shape tercel w/ 4WD deserves??
I'm going to say no...let's open this up to some senior members!

good gracious me, that's ridiculous. regardless of 2wd or 4wd, it's far from mint. the back seats are dirty and stained, same with the luggage cover, same with carpet in driver foot well, and it looks like the driver seat has a tear in it. the body looks great and that's relatively low miles but at best, i think this car is worth maybe $2000, and that's being generous.
i have softened on my anti-2wd stance lately because fuel economy has become increasingly important to me, and i've realized just how much more efficient 2wd's are. i also rarely need 4wd to get around, and have even started asking myself 'if i need 4wd to get around, should i even be driving at that time?' there are certainly some circumstances where i could justify it but they are few and far between. i used to want 4wd so i could get to work in the snow whereas i now think work is not worth risking dangerous driving conditions. so there may be a time in the future when i actively choose a 2wd terc over a 4wd.
all that being said, i'll still feel like a wimp about it. the 4wd lever and the inclinometer are just so deadly.

overpriced for sure. and buying a 29 year old econo-box station wagon that does not have 4wd is hardly worth it. Agree with DLB estimate in value, I think the 2wd wagons new were only about $5k-6k, and even though 136k miles is relatively low for a car that old, it is still a lot of miles on it for that price.
Lets see, drive a car for almost 30 years and than lets see if I can sell it for what I paid for it?
