WANTED, 3A engine

Looking for a 3A engine for my 1980 Tercel. I live on Vancouver Island so anywhere in south western BC.

I have rebuilders available for anyone interested. You shouldn't have too hard a time finding a good one. There are quite a few around.

I have a complete 3ac engine that came out of a 1987 Tercel4wd, but it looks like it was a newer crate engine from Japan. It ran good, I drove it over a 100 miles, I did a compression check before I pulled it. All cylinders were between 150 and 155. It is coming out of a project car that is getting a 4age swap. I have not decided on a price, not sure what it is even worth. The imported engines are typically about $400 for a useful long block if you can find them (all the external stuff on them have to be removed to make them work in a Tercel). I was hoping to sell it as a complete running engine, carb, distributor, manifold, etc. Since I do not need any of it for the project car.

This engine should work in your car too, you may want to swap out the older style distributor and coil you have to make it easier to get running.

I am in Washington state about an hour south of Vancouver. If you do not want it I am sure someone else on this list will be interested in it. Make me an offer.

hey masters. where on the island are you? i'm in shawnigan lake. there's a wrecker right near me that has a relatively untouched tercel hatchback. not positive on the engine condition but you could ask them. they're super nice dudes. i also know a guy on the malahat who might have one kicking around too. send me a private message if you want details on either of these.
