You are looking for SR5 trim correct? Not the thinner DLX trim...right?

I think I remember you saying you were heading to some pull-a-part yards last weekend. Any luck finding some parts rigs?

You can buy universal automotive carpet at any autoparts store, in multiple colors. Use your old pieces as a template...saves a lot of money if you can't find a factory piece.

Check the posting about wheels that fit these Tercs, they are 4x100mm bolt pattern so it is a very common size. https://tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8122

Check your local Craigslist ads to see if anyone is selling any of these Tercs with a bad engine or trans for super cheap. They may be willing to sell parts off of the car to make a few bucks since it would already need to much to fix it. Just a thought since you only want parts.

Ya no luck so far. I had one guy agree to sell me his on here and he never got back to me after that. Found a whole car on craigslist and the guy sold it a day before I called him lol I'm going to be getting some wheels from Stockton cause there's a used tire and wheel shop on practically every corner. Painting this weeksend so ill start a separate thread once I have her finished. I would love to get some VW cabriolet wheels, those would look so good with the direction I'm goin in.

My carpet doesn't look too bad. After I get some mats I think it will be fine.

acuna, the carpet can be removed fairly easily and put through the washing machine. just remove the front seats (four 14 mm bolts each), unbolt the front seat belts (four more 14 mm bolts), remove a bunch of trim (phillips screws and a few 10 mm bolts), and pop the rear bench out. i find several hot washes with lots of soap and bleach on the 'gentle' setting work best. i've done it a few times with very good results.

there are a few 15" 4-bolt wheels that fit our cars that look really good. they're not very common but i'd like to try some sometime.

I tried steam cleaning the carpet and it didn't turn out too bad. Good idea with the washer, didn't think of that. The carpet is defiantly small enough if you do one side at a time.

yeah, there is a front and rear carpet so they're manageable for any decent sized washer. the two meet underneath the front seats. the only issue i had with putting the carpets in the washer was that i had to remove all the underlay before hand (since it will clog the washer) but it's easily replaced with nice clean stuff afterward. also, there is the plastic kick pad on the driver side of the front carpet and i have had it come off in the wash. i didn't care about it though.

if you decide to go nuts with cleaning the interior, i posted a few threads on removing the seat covers and laundering them. i've had excellent results with that, though it is very time consuming. here are the links.

My terc is a 87. The guy who had it was soooo dirty. The car hadn't been cleaned since he got it.

Wish I had the plaid interior, it seems like that would be a lot easier to clean. I did I have good luck with the roof liner. Went from yellow to white with not too much effort.

Looks like the carpets turned out great. I would leave them and put my time and efforts into something else on the car now.

I dig the black interior but I bet it gets damn hot in the summer...hope your A/C works. I like the plaid interior too. My '85 is brown with brown plaid interior and I love it.

While you have the carpets out - - - consider removing the heating ducts to the rear. Not much air gets back there anyway. I blocked mine under the "binnacle" last year and intend to remove them when I remove the carpets. It did improve the airflow to the front orifices.
Your cleaning job looks great!

How did you block off the ducts? Cardboard and duct tape?

It was sort of a "rigging" job, as Winter was upon me and I didn't want to remove the seats and rugs and futz around.
I just removed the console and pulled back the rug under the binnacle, pried the "connection" apart and stuffed rags into the ducts. Last year I tried stuffing rags into the end of the ducts under the seat, but that did not do much good.
This year I intend to make some kind of blocking piece out of heat gun-formed plastic (like an old margarine tub) to cover the main outlet under the binnacle. This should improve flow even more.
