They actually made that out of Legos. No wait - I think it's a kit car built on a Fiero chassis (or maybe old Beetle pan)! At any rate it looks they got the dimensions fairly accurate. Just about every car guy has known another car guy who has half-assedly planned to make a life-sized Mach 5. Maybe that car will show up at the Dallas Cars 'n' Coffee -mainly a venue for big fat rich dudes to show off their Italian supercars, but fun to look at none the less.

As a young lad in the '70's I grew up on a fine diet of Speed Racer and Scooby Doo. Truly the glory days of Saturday morning cartoons, where the main characters were charismatic heros who triumphed over bad guys through strength, courage and clever solutions.
It's a scientific fact that in a twin engine aircraft, when one engine fails there is always enough power in the remaining engine to make it all the way to the crash site.
