Valve clearance

hey, Blue have a little problem with valveticking. i have bought a feeler gauge set, but the clearance should be 0,18 and 0,28mm and the closest feeler gauge sizes is 0,20 and 0,30mm. so i wonder if its ok to just use those with 0,02mm wrong thikness?

10% larger shouldn't be a problem, just set the valve lash a bit tight- so that the feeler gauge is a little hard to slide out and you should be fine. Be sure to set the valve lash while cold, otherwise you'll wind up with WAY too much clearance with a cold engine. While you're there, check that the half moon seal at the back of the head is sealed, they leak badly if not sealed into place.

There are cold and there are hot clearances for valve lash. I'd try to find the right gauges if I was doing it...that way less noise and maybe you don't get to do it again.
