A Murmuration of Starlings

Post by takza »

Give a boy a gun-give a biatch a cell phone-and pretty soon you almost got yourself a police state.

That almost looks creepy, I keep thinking all those birds might suddenly swoop down and attack the helpless people in the canoe. Death by a thousand little pecks, just like in "The Birds".

Alone they are each harmless little birds, but in a group they act with a collective mind and can flex their combined power over us humans.... Just like the killer rabbits in the Holy Grail.

I saw this a couple of times in the fall when I think they were getting ready for or in the midst of heading south....pretty impressive. In some towns here in the US I guess they can be a real problem though. Would have been interesting to see the passenger pigeons where they used to say it could take days for the flocks to pass...extinct now.

The Earl of Sterling says...watch out....

More and more extreme weather events in the US.

Weather pretty mild here so far...but they predict a bad winter here also....lots of snow.

North and south artics are warming...and rest of globe is experiencing more extreme weather....due to man-caused global warming. Though some believe in magical thinking and think if they say the opposite...then it will go away.
