New Zeland Earthquake video: even cars are not safe!

Post by Petros »

Dramatic video of recent NZ earthquake. You are not safe in your car if near brick buildings! I am surprized that a modern country like NZ does not have better building codes, old reinforced masonry is very dangerous. Most places prone to earthquakes will require retrofitting of old buildings. I take a well built wood framed building any day in an EQ!

Watching the stricken streets of Christchuch is reminiscent of watching the stricken streets of New York CIty on 9/11.
