Interesting vibration from front end...

Post by emmahumpfritter »

Hi guys,

I've got a question for you all:

Recently my t4wd has had a moderate vibration from mostly the passanger side front wheel, but it's seems to be from both sides of the front, but only when I'm accelerating, and mostly only up hills (the most noticable) I did recently replace the rotors, pads, axles and sway bar bushings, but not the wheel bearings. I did put 14 inch alum wheels/tires off a Nissian NX as well (looks great and has much more stout stability and feel)

Has anyone ever had this vibration issue while accel'ing up hills?

Thanks,
Brenton

That almost sounds like a CV joint, but you say you put in new axles? I do not think a bad bearing would cause that, usually they just get noisy, no vibrations (but anything is possible). Are the tires and wheels balanced?

I've seen something similar accelerating in 3rd...couldn't decide whether it was a kind of engine missfire or the axles. Don't think it happens too much anymore...maybe because I stay out of the throttle more...or because I changed out the ignition parts...cap...rotor...wire set?

Could be an ignition missfire under load. Taller tires increase the load slightly. Check cap, rotor, plugs, wires.

Otherwise it could be a defective CV joint too.

Those would be the two most likely sources of your symptom.
