Reman 5-Speed Transmission

Post by ARCHINSTL »

If anyone needs a low (!) mileage rebuilt Everdrive.com 5-speed transmission - in St. Louis area.

From a 1985 2WD DX Wagon. I emailed the seller and he seems willing to part out other items. The interior is grey and the body is light blue.

Don't think it's reman unless the previous owner just did it. Everdrive is a used part supplier.

Ahh - I did not know that.
What he wrote in CL ad:
" Bought rebuilt from Everdrive.com $900 for 1985 Toyota Tercel DX Wagon. It was on the road 4 days when, while sunblinded, I ran into the back of a pick-up. I was still able to drive home, so installed, trans was driven less than 100 miles. Moved the car 4/11/10 atill drives. Parting car out only. Not selling whole. "
What he sent me when I mentioned I would list it on our site:
" That would be fine. It is in fact a 2wd. I really dont want to let go. I was a courier and this thing could get in where the "pretty boys" dared not go, in weather they were too scared to run in. The interior is grey. It was the light blue color. rear doors glass rear hatch and rear speaker mounts are intact. My cargo cover gave up the ghost a long time ago. "
If he paid $900 for a used trans - that is a lot, isn't it? Even with shipping from where ever, right?

You have to factor in their 3 year warranty. They certainly have. I think they are best suited for people who aren't very resourceful. Hopefully they are more discerning than some of my local yards. Had a "tested working" auto trans come with a seized/sheared off input shaft once. Sure am glad I always replace input and outut seals when putting used in. Wouldn't have noticed otherwise, at least not until it still didn't move.

$900 can buy more than a couple parts cars.

Buyer beware is still in effect until futher notice!
