Fire and ice. Tercel still wins

Post by splatterdog »

Well since all the Toyota high temp thermal events have been handled by the wife, I figured I would try cold.

Kind of embarrassed. Picked up the "new" 85 from grandma's where it's been lying in wait. Battery and engine froze. Seems I was planning on picking it up sooner, and didn't, and forgot it still had only water as it needed a real good flushing. Luckily the temps haven's been brutal during our little blizzard and the thaw was easy. Scavenged some 60/40 from the burb overflow just to make sure I made it home. I feel lucky nothing cracked/burst as it did go thru some sub zero's temps. It was one day from being plowed in, maybe till spring!

Made it home just fine and was a little dissapointed the highways were all finally cleared up and nowhere near freezing. Only needed 4wd for 2 blocks. The way to grandmas was a different story.

Gotta love the tenacity of these little cars!
