New to me and it's a beaut. My favorite light blue metallic SR5 with picnic blanket upholstery, mag wheels and a sunroof. Most amazing thing is only 121,000 miles. Some bad dings, but I haven't found any wreck repairs yet so all the paint seems original and all the body damage you see is all there has ever been. A few bad patches of surface rust, but not rusty. It is missing some trim, I need to replace some light lenses for small holes and the right front headlight bucket, windshield (or something) leaks. Mechanically it may have both severe oil and cooling system leaks (the engine was covered in oil before a trip to the spray & wash, and the radiator was low. The trans was also about a quart low). Both front door windows had come apart from their window regulators but I've fixed that already.
I've posted pictures to the picture uploader and I'll try to post them here.
Before cleanup except I've removed the rain gutter trim for cleaning.
After the spray & wash. It has both air conditioning and power steering which I would like to remove. Anybody want to make me an offer on low mileage AC equipment?
That's a pretty solid car with low miles...sounds like it's been neglected though. Oil leak is probably the valve cover gasket. I'd keep that AC and run it now and then...adds value to the car.

Looks pretty nice, good job on cleaning up the engine bay. I guess you too have found that one T4WD isn't enough? I know you had the '83 and the '84 before, but it's nice to have two of them, especially having one as a backup car, makes things a lot easier. I still haven't found a Tercel fully optioned yet, been wanting an '87-'88 with the factory alloys, A/C, etc. Who knows when I'll come across one, the '87-'88 are fairly difficult to come by around here, but good luck with it.

Thank you very much Petros and all others. Right now the thing I need is to stop the rust and the leak into the drive's footbox. After that I will need a couple of the little interior hatch covers from the right rear and a left tail light, but they are going to have to wait. The Rustoleum is a good tip.
leaking at driver side "foot box" do you mean become pool of water at driver inside floor , that in case two of my cars had same problem , Itry to seal every where( remove chrome to seal window and all the metal body joint ) still leaking , did i miss some where that Tercel are pron to leak.
In my case it seemed to be a rubber boot or grommet-like thing that carries the electrical harness and hood release cable into the passenger compartment. It is in the side of the footbox above the fuse panel. There may have been a small leak in the unibody above that (as evidenced by a faint trail of discoloration) where the side and the top of the footbox join near the firewall. There is an ongoing thread here: http://www.tercel4wd.com/forums/viewtop ... f=7&t=4838
I actually believe the Power steering on our cars is one of the best I've (and even some of my subaru driving friends) ever used as it one of the earliest speed sensitive types and only comes into play when at low speed. You still get good feedback from the road and isn't as removed from the handling at speed as a lot of modern cars. I would have power steering any day over the manual. Especially around town. you can park is some tiny spots with one hand if you needed!

Fortunately, my Tercel doesn't have much rust here in the Northwest. But I have used Ospho in the past on serious rust problems, with good success. It converts rust back to iron. A good step prior to painting with Rustoleum.

sdoan, what did you use to get the exterior appearance of that engine all sparkly clean? Some kind of engine degreaser or something else and if so, what? Thanks! I love that engine, looks a lot cleaner than mine!
The new Tercel looks great! How much did you pay for this beauty (if you don't mind me asking)?
