I just installed new inner tie rods - thanks to tercel4wdrules for suggesting this. Turns out I didn't need to adjust the steering rack like I thought. Now of course I need to do an alignment and was wanting recommendations on which DIY alignment kit to buy. Anyone with experience with these kits? There may be a thread here on homemade alignments, but I couldn't find info on products.
Also, what is the stock alloy (pizza box) wheel offset? I can't find it on stamped on the wheel. The aftermarket wheels I got have a 38mm offset. My question is this: do the vented rotors and bigger calipers from the Paseo and newer Tercels clear the stock alloys? If they do then I should be able to fit my Enkeis with the bigger brakes.
I do want to use .25" wheel spacers regardless, which leads me to my next question. Are the stock studs, which are barely long enough for the stock wheels, removable? In other words can I just knock in longer ones from the back of the rotor?
Thanks for any help, I am really looking forward to my car driving better.

Brake/wheel/alignment Q's
It's a scientific fact that in a twin engine aircraft, when one engine fails there is always enough power in the remaining engine to make it all the way to the crash site.

There are a number of threads here on this subject; takza had one and several others did as well - did you perform a Search using the word?

Thanks, Tom, I think I should be able to do the alignment with this info.

Re: Brake/wheel/alignment Q's
I've actually worked out about 3 methods. The last one involves hanging a laser from a square bar and marking on a 2x4 or 2x6. I wouldn't buy the cheapo alignment gauge from JCWhitney. You can buy a laser and so forth for under $15.
