that is what my '84 tranny did just before it got bundled up and trashed. Put in an trans from an '83. Good luck finding one.

I got lucky and bought a front wheel drive transmission this week for $125. I'd been looking for a low-mileage transmission for my wagon for quite a while.
If new Tercel transmissions came with a differential, I'd have bought one a few years ago. Unfortunately they don't, although I have a new set of differential gears for a front wheel drive. I just hate the idea of spending almost a grand on a new transmission, and then having to have a differential built for it.
