TERCEL SIX SPEED TRANSMISSION, WORKING WHEN PULLED OUT OF 1985 TERCEL WAGON, THIS TRANSMISSOIN WILL NOT FIT ANYTHING ABOVE 1985 TERCEL WAGON.
$200.00 OR TRADE FOR 1986 TERCEL TRANSMISSION.
PICTURE IF INTERESTED

he is probably misinformed or confused. I'm almost positive they had the same transmission from 1983-1986 then in 1987 they changed it up. the transmission is the same in a 1986 then in a 1985.

The guy in the ad was probably thinking about the gear ratio difference..

No. I spoke to Gunnar about it. He did in fact have a different type trans. I believe it was 2wd. not 4wd. Where as he had an 86 and was in need of 4.10 4wd 6spd trans.

I think he sold both his all-trac and t4wd.

i think its 83-85 with 3.73 gear ratio differential 11 teeth on pinion 41 teeth on ring gear
86-88 with 4.1 gear ratio differential 10 teeth on pinion 41 teeth on ring gear

if i remember correctly the mfr cut off date was nov 1984 for 3.73 and a 1984 mfr date would be a 1985 model

either way the tranny itself is interchangable between 83-88 model years
just seperate the tranny from the differential housing so you can keep your old differential housing
and there is no worry about gear ratios
Love those Tercell 4x4 wagons but they sure suffer from road noise.

:) Xirdneh i'm sure your right
I own two 85's both with 4.11 raitos.
Makes it all the more important to look at production dates if someones car is titled as an 85
Mine must be late 85 making them the next years models

Gottolovem and I have replaced a couple of trannies throughout the years like you says the trainees themselves are interchangeable if you just separate the diff from the tranny
i will find a tercel in a music video
That's my new goal 8)
