Welcome to the Club!
Incidentally, props for performing Searches before asking the question!
I don't think this has been mentioned before. I looked in the FSM and could find nothing on the linkage. However, the AutoZone site does have some mention and pix here which may cover it: http://www.autozone.com/shopping/repair ... 5280052167
If you would - when you resolve it - take some pix/write a Guide to your solution.

There are no pics to be found in any manual.
IIRC there should be short crank arm on the motor. wiper transmission snaps onto that arm and connects the 2 pivots to the motor.
Arm on the motor will likely part of the motor assembly. If you problem is on the arm to the pivots, that arm should come with the wiper transmission (wiper pivot assembly). Either way I would suspect that you have a seized wiper pivot that has caused your failure, with everything disconnected you should be able to move all bits by hand pressure. As they work they will tighten up with friction.
Good luck

As for what holds it together, usually snap fit plastic connecters. If they are apart it has seen too much stress and popped apart, you can reassemble till the cows come home and it will just keep coming off (btdt) replacement is the only cure.
