You guys should list your favorite 80s songs, each and every one of you, even Australian and French and other foreign members....

I also like Final Countdown by Europe, etc.

I remember those songs coming around the first time. I kinda like them as samples now though, can't manage a whole song. :D

I just realised that Hall and Oates song has been sampled by some of my favorite artists... De La Soul, The Avalanches (Melbourne represent) and Girl Talk (those Mash ups are a goldmine of '80's goodness).

OK, back to my Neil Young playlist...

Yeah De LA Soul is where I first heard that sample too. SAY NO GO!!
Neil Young is great too. My fave Neil Young LP, "Everybody knows this is Nowhere."
I still collect LP's and have an Ebay store where I'm slowly selling them off. I have like thousands as I've been collecting since the 70's.
I used to DJ for a living too so if there is ONE thing I know it's music.

I've always had a record player as well. I worked at a record shop while at college and barely made a wage. These days I just pick a few records here and there at car boot sales and the like. Just picked up some Ray Charles and My Bloody Valentine.

We have a huge live music scene in Melbourne but most of my friends are only into one genre or the other. We all get together for a huge outdoor festival once a year about 2hours away where you camp by a creek and you can bring your own drink or whatever your into and see high calibre semi-unknown acts. They broke Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Cat Power, The Avalanches, Blackalicious, The Shins, Dirty Three, Augie March, Will Oldham, Andrew W.K., You Am I, The Presets, Datarock, The Gossip, Midlake, Wolfmother, Girl Talk etc in Australia. They also have Tai-Chi, a brass band and a nude running race - good times!

That sounds like a lot of fun. My Bloody Valentine - Haven't heard that one in a while.

This was EARLY 80's, a great song, I thought:

Late 70's or early 80's:

One of the best 80's comebacks (great video for those who recognize the people in it):

One of the greatest musical gifts of the 80's (and losses, in 1990):

That's "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey with Steve Perry as the lead singer.

Anybody also hear this song with the famous guitar solo by Dann Huff, an American musician:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IoSD9uSkoM

This is Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again" (radio version)

The uncut, unedited 1987 version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKTiwCez6Zs

The actual, original 1982 version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmdoP8wHUJw

I also love this song, but more specifically I love the radio version the best, most likely...

I wish someone would come out with a time machine so I can see my dead father again in the 1980's, especially the early 80's when he, my mom, and oldest sister lived in Berwyn, PA and he passed away in Jan of 92 in Franklin. My god, I still miss him so much!
