Google Street View

Post by dcn »

I'm sure that although the Terc is happiest in rugged areas, some of us live in major US cities. I was 'driving' around Chicago in awe of how cool this street view is. After checking out some train areas I thought it'd be cool to see if there were any Tercel wagons around. Then I thought of you folks! It would be cool if someone was parked on a street that was photographed in Street View, do any of you guys know if your cars were snapped in this neat program?

Here's a link to Chicago, dunno if there's any members there though. Any street outlined in blue is in Streetview, just click on the location you want to see.

Ditto here.
I think you have to go to your particular street and then start panning.
Incidentally - what is so special about Gresham, OR, that it rates so many "blue highways?" Is the whole town under surveillance by Google? Or should takza get involved here and analyze the security camera situation?
Incidentally - your aerial views are quite a bit closer on a zoom than many other locations in the USA, again for ? reason ? ? ? The zooming-down is better than for many national landmarks.
And, I might add, better in both blue streets and the resolution than my hometown of STL - made me feel real "flyover..." We have no street views - not even at the Arch, which is one of the top visited attractions in the country.

In some areas you can get pretty good resolution with GoogleEarth...the program.

Someone had a lawsuit against the online streetview thing cause they came way back off road to take a pic of their house.
