Thinking about selling my Second Tercel
Hey everyone, I have a 1987 Tercel SR5. It has about 345k on it. Overall runs just fine. Front fenders are rusted out. Some holes in the rocker panels. Unsure if I want to sell it because it's a perfect match for my Yellow wagon. Great for a parts car. But none the less going to be replaceing it with a 4x4 Suzuki Sameri for my girlfriend. Really torn weather to sell it or keep it souly for parts. If anyone in the Victoria area is interested let me know. If anyone is interested I can post pictures as well. Not even sure what I'd ask for it. Paid about 1500 for it last year. Has a roof rack with cd player as well.

its nice to have a good parts car handy. you might later kick yourself for selling it. guess for me it would depend on what i could get for it.
how do you like the samuri's, and how did you decide on that model for the gf? you remember the 4x4 subaru justy, cool little cars i thought.
sory im rambling...
good luck with the car.

Re: Thinking about selling my Second Tercel
heh, Yeah, I might regret selling it. Just playing with the idea still.
My friend is selling his 85 Samari, Cool little red one without any rust. it is from California so it has no rust and only 100,000 km on it. Due to it's extreamly good shape and good mileage. I'm also pretty heavy into 4x4's. I have a 88 Toyota pickup that I have some 38" super swampers on and some nice little mods. It's awesome but it had a fairly large lift kit. Really good and fun, But when it comes down to it a little Samari is almost better. Super low gears and can fit anywhere. Thing is'nt much better than a golf cart in my opinion. And What I love most is that it has a frame. So easy to rip apart and restore parts one at a time. You can do some pretty crazy mods to them as well. But thats what I did with my truck, I'd rather just put a slight lift into it so I could fit some slightly larger more aggressive tires. Then I think it would be perfect.
As for selling my second tercel, I picked it up for about 1500 last year, I don't think I'd want to take any less than 1200 for it? But that said I know as soon as I have another rock threw my headlight I'm going to regret selling it. Has anyone seen what Toyota charges for replacement headlight units for the 87 Tercels? It's pure madness.

Re: Thinking about selling my Second Tercel
i got sealed headlights for my 85 for like 25 dollars each from Carquest or napa..i can't remember.
Newer headlight assemblies are 200+ dollars..so it's cheap compared to them.

Really? You got sealed headlights for that cheap? I just noticed more moisture in my right headlight. I'd love to be able to buy some new units for my car. A sealed headlight for $25? I was pretty sure the 85 headlights were a totally different style? Can anyone verify this? If they are the same I'm totally going to pick some up, I'll check out Napa.
