Like the engines, are the rear ends and whatnot all the same from the beginning all the way up to the last tercel4wd made?

I think the axles should be all the same, the rear end ratio changed but that does not affect the axle. I have interchanged axles on several different years (but nothing newer than an '85).

There is a new pull-a-part in Arlington WA where I live (about 1.5 hours south of the BC border, come through Abbotsford then Bellingham, south on I-5) that has one. The axle would only take about 15 min to remove, and likely only cost about $10. Kamloops is a bit of a drive (we drove through there last August, nice town BTW), but if you coming to the State soon anyway you can get an axle cheap.

Still looking for an axel.. does anyone know what is involved in taking this thing out? Do you take apart the rear brakes, then take off the four nuts and it should slide out? Or is there something else involved?

Do a Search on this site.
MootsMan and at least one other member have done detailed descriptions.
