I used to live in BC and really miss it. I am in the Okanagan, Vancouver, and the Island often but I don't take the tercel on those long trips.

I live about an hour and half south of Vancouver in WA state, I have cousins in Vancouver. If I can get a passport to travel to Canada (required in June), I might make it up there for a meet. Passed through Kamloops on our way to go Camping in Jasper, and later to Banff two summers ago. I love the BC interior.

Are you sure you need a passport? I've had about 10 different friends go up there at all different times of year and they've never needed a passport.

Ever since 9/11 you've needed a passport to get to canada, they made me get one to go up there snowboarding over the winter.

I am not sure it is required quite yet, but you do need proof of citizenship (a Drivers License is no longer good enough, like it used to be). They keep putting off the date for passport requirement, I think the latest is June 1st, and I have been putting off renewing mine since I have not used it in 12 years.

I have relatives in Vancouver and used to go up there once a month or so, never a problem. Since 9/11 always more questions, car searches and other inconveniences, but requiring a passport is what is now new. So I will have to fork over the money to get a very seldom used passport just to drive north a few hours to visit friends and relatives, go camping, etc.

And now we can all rest assured that Canada is safe from invasion from too many tourists w/o passports who want to spend their money there, and commit who know other other notorious acts while visiting their neighbors.

It makes me feel so safe all over now, I can sleep better at night.
