Selling my Tercel
Ok, here's the deal. I feel so bad about selling my baby, but I need to put my 1985 Terc on the market. I'm in a pinch because my apartments are taking offense to me having three parking spaces taken for one apartment, and I can't really afford to do what I wanted to the "worthog" right now.
So, here's the deal. Rather than ditch my work truck or my chevelle, I'm putting my baby out there. Came here hoping I can sell the 'hog to someone who will give it a loving home.
I'll be completely honest with you guys, it needs some work. CV boots are cracked up, the alternator is shot (I think). It's missing the little window in the driver's side rear door. It grinds shifting into third no matter how much I baby it. It's also a little punk to start in the cold, have to hit the pedal 20-30 times early in the morning, barring a shot of starter fluid.
Hopefully I can get another one of these beasts at some point and continue my plans for world domination, as I'de planned on re-working the engine compartment to put a 5M-E engine it it, with the tranny and rear end from the same car ('81 Supra).
So, I guess the compilation of my rablings is... Any takers?
-Thor
--Edit--
Ok, reading this post when I'm not half asleep and I feel like an idiot. It's a 6spd manual, factory dark green, 146,280 miles on the clock. Dunno if all of them came with the sunroof, so I'll mention that, too.
Sorry about being so vauge in the first post.

Acutually, the alternator is no longer a problem, put a new one in from O'Reilly's today... $109.99. Yeesh! Anyone else ever have a problem with aftermarket alternators not wanting to fit in the hole so the bolt underneath slides through?
Anyway. I was asking $750 for it. Runs pretty good now with the new tesla-do-hicky.
I've got a buyer lined up coming from Dallas to see it on tuesday, but I'm trying to line up as much as possiable so I can get it sold before the wreckers come steal it. If anyone is interested, drop me an e-mail or a reply on this tread, and I'll tell ya tuesday wether or not it sold!
Would really hate to see it get scrapped by some greasemonkey in a tow yard.
Thanks gents!

What happened to your horn....?
More interior pics?
You know, if you clean up your engine bay a bit it'll REALLY snag attention.

A good method for interior cleaning is to remove your carpet and soak it in hot water with Simple Green. Scrub it gently (point isn't to remove the carpetting!) So as to remove as much grime as possible. When you remove it, wet/dry vac the water up as much as possible. Don't be very aggressive on the padded backing, the vacuum can lift it off the carpetting. If you have to just roller-squish that water out. Get as much out as possible. Let air-dry then re-install. If you have to, scrub the interior asphault-sheeting and vac it out. Find a place or method to do your seats and headliner while you're at it. A good steam machine MIGHT work well. Just don't soak the seats, as the grime and associated stinks will soak into the foam padding, making it permanant.
The cleaner you can make a car for sale, the better it'll look. And the more honest you can be. The kind of person who turns around when you tell them it leaks a little oil would be the same one coming back in a fit of rage screaming at you. Let them know ahead of time, and they won't be mad about it. They knew what they were getting into.
Not to say you leak oil....

The horn is actually a doorbell button from radio shack, hard wired in and screwed to the steering wheel with sheetmetal screws.
That's what I had to do to get it to pass inspection last time, due to the hor casing having rusted to the point where all the plates were fused together. Previous owner said he'd spilled soda on it about 30 times, and that's why it was so rusty...

Hey guys
So yeah. I had started working on the beast, but then it started raining it's butt off here in Texas a few weeks ago, and I'm slow on work.
Then I got a sweet deal on a new HOUSE. Screw apartments. *lol*
Anyway, long story short, while I was moving the car down to my nice new place to park it, the tranny died on me, linkage I think.
So now I'm really getting rid of it. It's starting to become appearant to me that I won't ever have enough money or time to build this thing up to the way it should be.
Asking $100 for scrap, obo.
Pretty much everything in the car is good now, except the CV's are still bad, and the new transmission problem.
I need to move the car soon, cause I already had my truck parked here, and I have the chevelle in storage pending selling it as well.
Anyone interested in coming and taking it off my hands whould be appreciated, as my dad (who's house I'm helping pay for) is pushing me to take it to the scrap yard and have it crushed and sold for metal scrap.
Thanks guys.
